We thought that it is about time that I introduced myself; share a little bit about where I came from; what my interests are; our plans for TENNADYNE; and briefly give you a  peek into the near future.

About the new owner… my name is Mark Chouinard (pronounced shu-nard) and my call is K5YAC.  Born in Dallas, Texas in 1972, I spent the 1980s in central Missouri a few miles west of Jefferson City, a wonderful place to grow up.

I have called Oklahoma home since 1991.  My wife Stephanie and I live in Collinsville, which is about 15 miles north of Tulsa.  We have three wonderful children, the youngest of which is a senior in high school.

A US Army veteran, I served five years in the 82nd Airborne Division and Southern European Task Force from 1994-1999.  After the military I went on to earn an Associates in Electronics Engineering Technology and a Bachelors in Business Management.

I also earned my private pilot’s license in 2004 and went on to scratch build my own airplane, a Pietenpol Air Camper if you are interested in that sort of thing.

My professional career started as an Electronics Technician with a local company that manufactures control systems for asphalt and concrete batch plants.  From there I went on to work as a Biomedical Engineering Technician with a local hospital, repairing and maintaining equipment used throughout the facility.  For the last 14 years I’ve worked in the oil & gas industry with Geophysical Research Company (now Sercel-GRC), a manufacturer of downhole sensors and surface data acquisition equipment, originally as an Engineering Technician, but moved up to being the company’s Repair Coordinator, Customer Service Manager, Inside Sales Rep, Sales and Marketing Manager and finally our OEM Support Manager handling all our major accounts.

My background in amateur radio began in 1995 when my Dad (Jerry - K5YAA) encouraged me to get my license prior do being stationed overseas with the Army.  The hobby has taken me places I never would have imagined.

Years ago I drew up plans for a big Cubex quad hoping to one day be a customer, now I am looking forward to manufacturing the products.  If you were to ask anyone that knows me they would likely attest to my proven ability to take things and run with it, a self-starter, an intense worker with a high degree of attention to detail.

I am proud to be a part of both Cubex and Tennadyne and look forward to taking the current product line and new developments into the future.

Oh, by the way, our sister company is CUBEX QUADS. Feel free to visit the site.

73 for now,

Mark K5YAC
